The European Parliament Adopts A Mandatory Origin Labeling Proposal For All European Exports.

At the end of last year, the European Parliament adopted a proposal to impose mandatory origin labels on textiles exported to Europe. The proposal continued to be promoted in the European Union. At the end of last week, the European Parliament passed 525 proposals, 49 votes against and 44 abstentions, adopted the proposal to impose mandatory origin labels on all products exported to Europe. The proposal was submitted to the Council of the European Union for legislative approval, so that manufacturers of standardized exports should clearly identify the origin so that European citizens have the right to know the source of their products.

The products exported to Europe mainly refer to the final products used by consumers, excluding semi-finished products and intermediate products, such as yarn and shuttle weaving in textile industry.

Countries with imported products do not include: Turkey, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.


The report said that if the above proposals were passed by the Council and the Council of the European Union, it should be implemented in the year after the European Union formally announced the new regulation. It was reported that the members of the parliament also joined the importer's penalty clause in violation of the regulations in the above proposal, which is valid for five years from the date of its entry into force. The Council and the Council of the European Union will make a decision one year ahead of time whether the law will be renewed or amended.
