According to reports, an employee who did not want to be named said that the Korean Tae Kwang Vina shoemaking factory, which opened in southeastern Vietnam, had a massive strike from 23 to 24, and about 20 thousand workers took part in the strike action.

They asked the company to increase their basic wages and to extend Vietnamese holidays for the Spring Festival.


The employee said that the company had agreed to extend the Spring Festival holiday to 8 days, but did not mention the issue of wage increase and holiday payment.


Almost 4000 Vietnamese workers strike at another South Korean factory in Nai, also demanding higher wages.


It is reported that the Vietnamese workers currently working in Korean factories earn about 1 million 300 thousand Dong Dong (about 65 US dollars) per month.

The average wage of the Vietnamese government is about 1 million 365 thousand Vietnamese Dong per month, which is below the average wage.
