Kate Middleton Wedding Jewelry Details Reveal

The wedding dress of Catherine Middleton is designed by Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton.

Miss Middleton chooses British brands Alexander McQueen Due to the beauty of its craft and respect for traditional handicraft and modeling structure. Miss Middleton hopes that her wedding dress can blend traditional and modern, and join the aesthetic features of Alexander McQueen works. In the design process of wedding dress, miss Middleton and the wedding dress collection of British handicraft were integrated into the skills and talents of Britain. The design of the wedding dress pays tribute to the tradition of art and craft, that is, to be loyal to the material and traditional craft, and to adopt simple modeling and romantic decoration. Ms. Burton's design is from tradition, adding unique, modern and feminine characteristics to tailoring and sophisticated decoration.

Design

The lace collage on the wedding dress (bodice) and the skirt (skirt) is made by the Hampton Court Palace. Royal embroidery Institute (The Royal School of Needlework) is hand-made. Lace was made by hand with Carrickmacross technique, which originated in Ireland in 1820s. Every flower is cut by hand and lace is made in ivory. Silk gauze On the surface, there are unique and smart shapes, including roses, thistles, Narcissus and clover.

The upper body and skirt of the wedding dress and the trim edge of the petticoat are all made of hand cut British lace and French Chantilly lace. Different lace must ensure that each flower has the same color. The whole process is supervised and integrated by Ms. Burton and her team.

The wedding dress is made of ivory and white satin. The white silk satin skirt is undulating and wrinkled, like a blooming flower. The length of the trailer is 2.7 meters. The Ivory Satin upper part is tightened at the waist, and the buttock is cushioned. It is both the classic form of the Vitoria era and the landmark design of Alexander McQueen. The Rouleau button is wrapped around 58 silk satin and black dry yarn. The petticoat is made of silk gauze and Cluny lace is trimmed.

Texture of material

French Chantilly lace is combined with British Cluny lace, and the British Cluny lace is handmade by Irish Carrickmacross traditional crafts. All other fabrics on the wedding dress are provided by British companies. The choice of fabric is determined according to Sarah Burton and her team's many aspects of research.

The Royal School of Needlework

The The Royal School of Needlework, located at Hampton Court Palace, helps the Alexander McQueen team precisely cut out delicate patterns from lace fabrics and accurately arrange new designs. The lace pattern is first fixed and "frame selected", then embroidered on the edge with 2-3 millimeter stitches. Workers wash their hands every half an hour to keep the lace and embroidery thread neat, and the embroidery needles are changed every 3 hours to ensure sharp and clean.

The staff of RSN include incumbent employees, former employees, guidance, postgraduates and students, among which the youngest is 19 years old.

RSN's works are mainly used for wedding dress and skirt, upper body and sleeves, bride's wedding shoes and veil.

Veil and jewelry

The veil is made of multilayer soft Ivory gauze, decorated by hand embroidered flowers and completed by the Royal embroidery Institute. The veil was fixed by Cartier's "halo" crown, and the queen borrowed the crown to miss Middleton. The "Halo" crown was made in 1936 by the Duke of York (later George VI) and presented to his Duchess (Queen Elizabeth's mother) for 3 weeks prior to the Duke of York's accession to the throne. When Princess Elizabeth was 18 years old, her mother gave her the crown.

The bride's earrings come from Robinson Pelham, and the oak leaves are studded with diamonds, which are pear shaped diamond pendants, and the top is an acorn pin with diamond inserts. The design is inspired by the Middleton family badges, including acorns and oak leaves. Earrings echo the crown. Earrings are gifts for the bride's parents to marry her.

Robinson Pelham also designed a pair of diamond earrings for miss Philippa Middleton. For the natural flower design, echoes the hair ornaments worn by Miss Philippa Middleton at the wedding ceremony.

Mrs. Carole Middleton wore tourmaline and Diamond Pendant Necklace and matching earrings. The bride's father, Mr. Michael Middleton and brother James Middleton, each wore a gold pin, one with gold acorns at the other and the other with oak leaves.

Wedding shoes

The wedding shoes are hand-made by the Alexander McQueen team. The material is made by the Duke of ivory and decorated with the hand embroidered lace of the Royal embroidery Institute.

Bride's bouquet

The bride's bouquet is a shield, including myrtle, Yamase Yuri, Sweet William and hyacinth. The flower bouquet was designed by Shane Connolly, using traditional flowers representing the royal family, flowers of the Middleton family, and appropriate flowers.
