The game user apologized for the theft of personal information and admitted that 10 million credit card information might be leaked. The FBI has been invited to investigate.


Two weeks ago, SONY's PlayStation game network was hacked, stealing personal information from SONY PS3 and music Qriocity users, including names, addresses, birthdays, login names and passwords.

It is reported that up to 77 million users are affected, and 10 million of them have been stolen. Credit card accounts may be involved in 57 countries and regions.

According to US media reports, hackers suspected of stealing data began to discuss personal information on the Internet and claimed that they had obtained 2 million 200 thousand credit card information.


On the day of the press conference, SONY vice president Hirai Yifu bowed and apologized to the public at the press conference, saying that he would make a review to avoid the recurrence of the incident.

Kifuji Masaki, a lawyer familiar with Japan's Internet crime, said that according to the usual practice, if the leakage data is limited to basic information such as name and telephone, the amount of compensation will be 5000 yen to 10 thousand yen per person; if the information is disclosed, personal damages may be substantially increased.

Japanese cosmetic companies had been ordered to compensate 30 thousand yen for each customer due to customer information leakage.

According to this standard, the amount of compensation that SONY faces may reach 2 trillion yen (US $24 billion 500 million).
