In the first quarter of this year, the global garment production grew by 6% in the 2011 quarter. It also highlights the difference between the decline of garment production in developed countries and developed countries.


The data show that in the first quarter of this year, the production of garment manufacturing increased by 12.8% in the developing countries, but in the developed industrialized countries, the decrease of 4.7%-- was the largest among the 20 industries surveyed in the same period (2010).

The contrast between the growth of textile production in developed countries and the developed countries is not as striking as that in garment manufacturing.

In the first quarter of this year, the global textile manufacturing industry grew by 6.12%. In developing countries, China grew by 7.45% over the same period last year, while only 3.4% in developed countries.


Similarly, the first quarter of this year is global leather.

Leatherwear

Production and footwear production climbed 11.02%, 15.5% in developing countries, and 3.5% in developed countries.


In the fourth quarter of last year, global clothing production grew by 7.3%, growing 13.4% in developing countries, and 2.2% in developed countries.


According to UNIDO's report data, global manufacturing production grew by 6.5% in the first quarter of this year.


According to the quarterly analysis of the production data, the manufacturing industry in the first quarter of this year grew by 11.5% over the same period last year, with the largest growth rate in mainland China (15%) and the growth of emerging countries, such as Turkey's growth of 13.8%, Mexico's growth of 7.4% and India's growth of 5.1%.


In the first quarter of this year, the development of national manufacturing industry grew by 4.4%, among which the growth rate of the largest manufacturing country in the United States (7.1%) was the largest.


Europe's main economies, including France, Germany and the United Kingdom, also showed significant growth trends in manufacturing industry, while other European countries, such as Greece, fell 6.9%, while Portugal and Spain maintained a slight growth of 1%.


In the first quarter of this year, Japan's manufacturing industry declined by 2.4%, which has not yet been reflected by the impact of the March tsunami.

In North Africa, manufacturing and production in Egypt and Tunisia were 8.9% and 7.4% respectively.
