Apparel Retail Sales In September

The US Department of Commerce (Commerce Department) announced in October 14th, the US September.

The increase was more than expected, attributable to cars,

clothing

And fuel sales are strong.


 

 

Retail sales rose 1.1% in September, stronger than economists expected to grow by 0.7%.

Retail sales in August were revised up to 0.3% over the month, and the initial value was flat.

Sales of 10 sectors rose in 13 main sectors, while sales of motor vehicles, clothing and gas stations led to a decline in sports goods and food and beverage sales.


In September, sales of auto parts and components increased by 3.6%, sales of clothing increased by 1.3%, and sales of petrol stations increased by 1.2%.

By contrast, sales of sports goods decreased by 0.3%, sales of food and beverage decreased by 0.2%, and sales of building materials dropped by 0.1%.

After excluding car projects, the US core retail sales in September increased by 0.6%, higher than that in the US.

Economist

The expected 0.3%.


In August, core retail sales were revised up to 0.5% over the month, and the initial value increased by 0.1%.

Excluding cars, gasoline and building materials, the US retail sales in September increased by 0.6% compared to August, while the increase in August was about 0.4%.
