Compared with exports, the total import of Chinese clothing is only a fraction.
Taking 2011 as an example, according to customs statistics, China's clothing imports totaled 4 billion 10 million US dollars, while clothing exports totaled US $153 billion 220 million.
But compared to foreign countries, China is indeed a big market with strong charm.
Hu Min, director of the textile department of the China Textiles Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, believes that foreign exporters and Chinese importers are not very clear about the legal inspection items of clothing products in China, and are also a factor in the quality of clothing.
Although China's testing standards for clothing have gradually improved in recent years, the corresponding standards have been revised and perfected, Hu Min said. However, judging from the feedback from enterprises, the clothing standards abroad are generally higher than those in China.
Although a number of Korean brands in China refer to "China standard" and "do in Rome as the Romans do", they also say that they are not very familiar with Chinese standards.
