Columbia Did You Try To Carry Out The Old Shoes Recycling?

Columbia sportswear, a professional outdoor apparel and footwear company in the US, has established a partnership recovery plan with Swiss textile textile company, a pioneer in textile recycling.

The Rethreads plan encourages consumers to take any of their brands of old clothes and shoes for recycling in one of 7 pilot stores in Oregon, Washington state and Minnesota, and to purchase more than US$75 merchandise, giving them a 10% discount.

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, there are about 85% of the United States now.

It will be discarded in a landfill, which is equivalent to about 24 billion pounds of waste a year or 70 pounds of waste per person a year.

"Through the Rethreads program, Columbia will also join the campaign to reduce clothing and footwear discarded in landfills to help protect us.

It will reduce our collective carbon footprint and help the earth and our communities to update, "the company said.

The products collected will be sent to a partner company with processing facilities, which will be re evaluated and classified over there to be re worn, reused or recycled.

If the products are still wearable, they will be pferred to the second-hand market, and those that can not be recycled will be recycled into recycled materials, such as raw materials for making new fibers.

At the beginning of this year, Levi Strauss announced all its stores in the United States to expand its clothing recycling operations, with continuous efforts to reduce the number of textiles eventually disposed of in landfills.

The company aims to make it easier for consumers to recycle old clothes and old shoes, and to create an infrastructure before 2020 to support the recycling economy.
