Especially in the relatively backward rural areas, this phenomenon is particularly prominent, and some weekly wages are less than 200 rand (about 27 US dollars).


Recently, the relevant agencies and departments in South Africa have adopted coercive measures to force these enterprises to strictly enforce the statutory standards.

More than 1/3 of South African clothing manufacturers may be forced to close because they can not afford to pay the minimum wage.

This will not only lead to the loss of jobs for about 20 thousand garment workers, but also the economic development of underdeveloped rural areas.
